Mommy Goals 2010

16 Feb

I know I know…it’s February! I am about 2 months behind in writing down my annual goals, but I have had them, just haven’t shared them. So here they are! These will also be the focus of my blog!

Family Goals

We are in a rut! We sit at home and watch TV. It’s just what we do! And while it works for us most of the time, we forget to have actual conversations sometimes. I want to do my part in maintaining a healthy relationship with my husband, in turn teaching our son (and eventually baby #2) how to have healthy and happy relationships.

1. Create a family calendar. One date night per month. One family day per month. Weekly outing for the baby.

2. Supper at the table every other night. (I know it should be EVERY night, but babysteps…remember we’re couch potatoes!)

3. Find a place of worship where we feel encouraged to better ourselves and participate. (We are new to the area and haven’t found a place to call our church home, YET.)

4. Daily fun time with mommy and baby.

Financial Goals

Since I became a SAHM, we have done pretty well financially! We are officially making less and saving more! We just wish we had the sense to set financial goals while we had double the income! Here are our current short-term financial goals.

1. Cut spending to $50/week for groceries and household expenses. I will allow myself a $100 stock up allowance per month in case a huge sale on diapers or meat arises!

2. Earn $100/week.

3. Keep a record of budgeting and spending and update weekly.

4. Continue to work on Dave Ramsey’s Baby Step # 2.

Personal Goals

1. Become a blogger! Everywhere I look, I see articles on how blogging can turn into profit. I once wanted to be a writer. I already spend too much time on the computer (usually aimlessly) and I have a definite need to contribute. Time to give it a try!

2. Stop “letting myself go.” Many days I stay in my pjs, let my hair air dry and not style it, and make up is almost foreign to me these days! Manis and pedis seem to be a thing of the past! And really…a girl should NOT color her hair if she doesn’t make the time to maintain it! And I realize that all of this DOES effect my self worth and esteem! Time to take action! I KNOW BETTER!

3. Create a food journal. I already have a “menu plan” which is everything I cook. Due to a very picky husband, rarely does it change. I want to take each meal and create a calorie count and serving size for each. I am currently expecting and cannot diet, but as soon as this sweet bean pops out, it’s back to diet and exercise for this family!

4. Wash the dishes every NIGHT. Have to blame the TV for this one, too! If my husband is watching, I’m inclined to leave the dishes and have “quality time” with him. WHAT AN EXCUSE!!!

5. Create and maintain a beautiful home.

That’s all for now, but I reserve the right to adapt my list as needed! What are your goals this year?
